CHARLES OLIVEIRA/ARMAN TSARUKYAN #1 CONTENDER FIGHT SET FOR UFC 300

A lightweight division #1 contenders fight has been added to UFC 300 according to UFC CEO Dana White as #1 Charles Oliveira faces #4 Arman Tsarukyan.

Oliveira (34-9-0-1NC) has won 12 of his last 13 in the UFC, with notable wins coming over Clay Guida, Jim Miller, Nik Lentz, Jared Gordon, Kevin Lee, Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje and Beneil Dariush. Oliveira is a former UFC Lightweight Champion, defeating the aforementioned Chandler to win the gold at UFC 262. Oliveira has suffered one loss in the last five-plus years and that came to Islam Makhachev at UFC 280.

Tsarukyan (21-3-0) enters the bout on a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Damir Ismagulov, Joaquim Silva and Beneil Dariush. Tsarukyan has previously fought UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev as well, suffering a unanimous decision loss to him at UFC Fight Night 149. Tsarukyan has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter, but he has yet to be beaten by way of submission.

UFC 300 is scheduled for Saturday, April 13 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
