Mayra Bueno Silva and Raquel Pennington will fight for the vacant UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title in the co-main event of UFC 297.
There could be some problems heading into the title bout, as Silva claims that nobody wants to watch her upcoming fight.
“On paper, it’s not a good fight because nobody wants to watch this fight – I know,” Bueno Silva told Middle Easy (transcript via Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie). “This fight on paper is no good. But I promise I will give a big show for everybody. Everybody (will go) home and think about, ‘Hey, this girl Mayra Bueno Silva is the chosen one.'”
Pennington has previously challenged for the women’s bantamweight title, while Silva is getting her first chance at the gold.
Silva believes that whether fans watch the fight or not, she will be knocking out Pennington at UFC 297.
“I will knock her out – I believe this,” Bueno Silva said. “I believe – 100 percent.”
