FRANCIS NGANNOU UNSURE IF HE’LL HAVE AN MMA FIGHT IN 2024

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou will be boxing Anthony Joshua this March in Saudi Arabia.

As far as fighting in the PFL in 2024, the former heavyweight champion is unsure that he’ll be competing in the PFL this year.

“Possibility, yes. Strong possibility, I don’t know,” Ngannou said on The MMA Hour (transcript via Danny Segura of MMA Junkie). “As I said, even before this fight, nothing was certain yet.”

Ngannou last competed in an MMA fight at UFC 270 in January of 2022, defeating Ciryl Gane by unanimous decision.

One thing Ngannou did before accepting the boxing match with Joshua was to get the PFL’s blessing.

“When I received a call and the offer for proposal of this fight, what happened? I reached out to PFL and told them because we’re in the business together,” Ngannou said. “They gave me their blessing and said they can’t take away this opportunity from me, so I was happy to do that. I didn’t want to know what else they’re going to say, as long as they approved. They didn’t have a problem with this.”
