A heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 299 according to Marcel Dorff as Robelis Despaigne faces Josh Parisian.

Despaigne (4-0-0) will be making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over a year. Despaigne fought three times in the Fury FC promotion, defeating Travis Gregoire, Stevie Payne and Miles Banks. Despaigne has competed four times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those bouts went past the opening round.

Parisian (15-7-0) has won two of six in the UFC, with those wins coming over Roque Martinez and Alan Baudot. Parisian competed twice before on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating the duo of Greg Rebello and Chad Johnson. Parisian hasn’t won a bout in over a year, with his last win coming at UFC On ESPN 38 in June of 2022.

UFC 299 takes place on Saturday, March 9 from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida with Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
