A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Mexico City according to Carlos Contreras Legaspi as Raoni Barcelos faces Christian Quinonez.
Barcelos (17-5-0) has won just one of his last five under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Trevin Jones at UFC Fight Night 211. Barcelos hasn’t won a bout in over a year, as the aforementioned win over Jones came in October of 2022. Barcelos has earned 17 wins as a professional MMA fighter and eight of them came by way of KO/TKO.
Quinonez (18-4-0) has won just one of two in the UFC, with that single win coming against Khalid Taha at UFC Fight Night 209. Quinonez competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Long Xiao by unanimous decision during the 2021 season. Quinonez has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter, but none of those losses have come by decision.
UFC Fight Night Mexico City takes place on Saturday, February 24 from the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico with Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
