REPORT: CLAUDIO PUELLES FACES FARES ZIAM AT UFC MEXICO CITY

A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Mexico City according to MMA LatinoAmerica as Claudio Puelles faces Fares Ziam.

Puelles (12-3-0) has won five of seven under the UFC banner, with notable wins coming over Jordan Leavitt, Chris Gruetzemacher and Clay Guida. Puelles is competing for the first time in over a year, with his last bout happening at UFC 281 in November of 2022. Puelles hasn’t won a bout in almost two years, with his last win coming at UFC Fight Night 205 in April of 2022.

Ziam (14-4-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Michal Figlak and Jai Herbert. Ziam hasn’t been beaten in almost two years, with his last loss coming to Terrance McKinney at UFC Fight Night 202 in February of 2022. Ziam has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of submission.

UFC Fight Night Mexico City takes place on Saturday, February 24 from the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico with Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
