By David Tees on 1/11/2024 7:16 PM

It appears that we have our first fight for the heavily rumored PFLxBellator card on February 24 according to Al Zullino as Bellator Featherweight Champion Patricio Pitbull faces PFL Featherweight Champion Jesus Pinedo.

Pitbull (35-7-0) enters the contest on a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Sergio Pettis (at bantamweight) and Chihiro Suzuki (at Rizin). Pitbull last defended the featherweight title at Bellator 286 in October of 2022, defeating Adam Borics by decision. Pitbull also made it to the finals of the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix, but suffered a first round submission loss to AJ McKee in the finals.

Pinedo (23-6-1) won the PFL Featherweight Title by defeating Gabriel Braga by third round TKO at the 2023 PFL World Championships. Pinedo does enter the contest on a three fight winning streak, with those other victories coming over Brendan Loughnane and Bubba Jenkins. Pinedo also went 1-1-0 during a brief run in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Devin Powell at UFC Fight Night 140 in November of 2018.

PFLxBellator: Champions vs. Champions is set for Saturday, February 24 from a location to be announced in Saudi Arabia with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
