A women’s flyweight division attraction has been announced for UFC 299 by the UFC as Joanne Wood faces Maryna Moroz.

Wood (16-8-0) has won two of her last six under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Jessica Eye and Luana Carolina. Wood will be fighting for the first time in nearly a year, with her last bout happening at UFC 286 in March of 2023. Wood has suffered eight losses as a professional MMA fighter, but she has yet to be beaten by way of KO/TKO.

Moroz (11-5-0) won the first meeting between herself and Wood, with that win coming by first round submission at UFC Fight Night 64 in April of 2015. Moroz will enter the rematch on a two fight losing streak and she hasn’t earned a win in almost two years. Moroz has earned 11 wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of submission.

UFC 299 takes place on Saturday, March 9 from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida with Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
