By David Tees on 1/26/2024 3:51 PM

A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC 301 according to the Iridium Sports Agency as Joaquim Silva faces Drakkar Klose.

Silva (13-4-0) has won two of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Jesse Ronson and Clay Guida. Silva hasn’t started a winning streak in over a decade, with his last such streak beginning in 2010 and it lasted for 10 fights. Silva is also competing on a UFC pay-per-view card for the first time since UFC 191 in September of 2015.

Klose (14-2-1) enters the contest riding a three fight winning streak, defeating Brandon Jenkins, Rafa Garcia and Joe Solecki. Klose hasn’t been defeated in almost four years, with his last loss coming to Beneil Dariush at UFC 248 in March of 2020. Klose and Cody Brundage worked together to make history at UFC Austin, as both fighters scored slam knockouts in two straight fights for the first time in UFC history.

UFC 301 takes place on Saturday, May 4 from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
