REPORT: COREY ANDERSON/KARL MOORE TITLE FIGHT HEADLINING MARCH BELLATOR CARD

By David Tees on 1/30/2024 6:36 PM

The first Bellator card of 2024 and the first Bellator card since the promotion was acquired by the PFL will take place on Friday, March 22 and Ariel Helwani reports that the main event will be for the vacant light heavyweight title as Corey Anderson faces Karl Moore.

Anderson (17-6-0-1NC) is trying for the third time to win the Bellator Light Heavyweight Title, previously losing to previous champion Vadim Nemkov once before, while also fighting Nemkov to a no contest in his first opportunity. Anderson has won just one of his last three under the Bellator banner, with that lone win coming over Phil Davis at Bellator 297. Anderson was the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 19, defeating Matt Van Buren in the finals of the reality show.

Moore (12-2-0) enters the contest riding a four fight winning streak, defeating Lee Chadwick, Karl Albrektsson, Maciej Rozanski and Alex Polizzi. Moore hasn’t been defeated in over five years, with his last loss coming to Mauro Cerilli at Cage Warriors 92 in March of 2018. Moore has competed 14 times as a professional MMA fighter and five of those encounters went the distance.

Bellator: Anderson vs. Moore is set for Friday, March 22 from a location to be announced in Belfast, Ireland with Corey Anderson and Karl Moore headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
