A heavyweight division attraction has been added to the March 23 UFC Fight Night card according to Marcel Dorff as Junior Tafa faces Karl Williams.
Tafa (5-1-0) has won one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Parker Porter at UFC Fight Night 225. Tafa also competed once in Rizin, defeating Tsuyoshi Kamiyama by first round TKO at Rizin 40 in December of 2022. Tafa is the brother of fellow UFC fighter Justin Tafa, who is back in action next month against Marcos Rogerio De Lima at UFC 298.
Williams (9-1-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition, having defeated the duo of Chase Sherman and Lukasz Brzeski. Williams also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Jimmy Lawson by unanimous decision during the 2022 season. Williams has earned six wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of decision.
UFC Fight Night: Ribas vs. Namajunas takes place on Saturday, March 23 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Amanda Ribas and Rose Namajunas headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast details have yet to be revealed.
