A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to the April 6 UFC Fight Night card according to Eurosport as Cynthia Calvillo faces Piera Rodriguez.
Calvillo (9-6-1) enters the contest riding a five fight losing streak and she hasn’t won a fight in almost four years. Calvillo’s last win came via unanimous decision over Jessica Eye in the main event of UFC On ESPN 10 in June of 2020. Calvillo has seen eight of her 16 professional MMA fights go the distance and the fighter has a 4-4-0 record in those bouts.
Rodriguez (9-1-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Kay Hansen and Sam Hughes. Rodriguez is looking to rebound from her first professional MMA defeat, which came to Gillian Robertson at UFC On ESPN 44 in April of 2023. Rodriguez has earned nine wins as a professional MMA fighter and five of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night: Vettori vs. Allen is scheduled for Saturday, April 6 from a location to be announced with Marvin Vettori and Brendan Allen headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
