A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC 302 according to David Van Auken as Grant Dawson faces Joe Solecki.
Dawson (20-2-1) has won three of his last four in the UFC, with those wins coming over Jared Gordon, Mark O. Madsen and Damir Ismagulov. Dawson is coming off of his first UFC main event appearance, which was a first round knockout loss to Bobby Green at UFC Fight Night 229. Dawson has earned 20 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 13 of them came by way of submission.
Solecki (13-4-0) has won two of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Alex Da Silva and Carl Deaton. Solecki is competing on his first UFC pay-per-view event, despite having been with the promotion for over four years. Solecki competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating James Wallace by first round submission during the 2019 season.
UFC 302 takes place on Saturday, June 1 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
