I like Paul E. on the mic, but with only one hour and so much to fill it with, I cringe when I see show opening promos. It seemed overly long, too. I kept watching the clock to see how long it was running. I think they could have accomplished the same with a 30 or 60 second pre-taped promo before the "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" opening. Sabu's springboard onto Heyman's security was a cool spot, though.
RVD and Holly was good. I hate all these DQ finishes, but the match was fun. Why, Stevie, why? You knew Sandman and Dreamer were coming, but I still popped for their save and Sandman's subsequent lashing of the heels. It appears that they're finally moving forward with the ECW Originals vs. the New Breed, and that's a good thing, in my opinion.
I was very surprised to see Shannon Moore's debut so hastily done. I didn't catch any of the previews, so I don't know if it was announced, but with so many weeks of vignettes, I expected a little more build to his debut. And I expected a little more offense. The little guy showed some fire at the beginning, but then Punk took over. Damn, was MSG hot for Punk or what? Especially his offense. He's gonna be huge.
I don't know if the vignette with Kelly Kelly was foreshadowing or nothing, but I was thinking they're gonna somehow involve Punk in the impending Originals v. New Breed feud. I think he'll play the loner that feuds with the New Breed because he won't side with them and slowly gains the respect of the originals.
This is getting long, so I'll gloss over the next couple segments. I'm not sold on Dupree. I also found it interesting that he doesn't wear knee pads. I can't think of anyone else that wears short tights without knee pads. Striker has great delivery, but had nothing great to say this week.
I really liked the main event. That chokeslam-counter into the DDT thru the table spot was really nice looking. And I cringed twice for the last table spot because I thought Sabu was going to fall off the ropes and then I thought the Show was going to drop him, but they salvaged it into another cool moment. It's a delicate balance in a Show v. Sabu match. They have to make Show look like a complete monster, but have Sabu come out looking strong and somehow they've usually managed to do both effectively. Show should have won, and he did. Good match. I don't know who's impressing me more: Big Show or Sabu? Nobody thought Sabu could do what he's doing at this level anymore. And nobody thought Show could do what he's doing period. There's a lot of WWE influence in ECW, that's true. But it's obvious that Heyman's voice is coming through strong in ECW. Until we meet again.

Here my take on ECW at MSG - (Still feel strange writing that).
- Man, Heyman's promo was good and the way he got heat in the promo was genius.
- I guess Paul thinks Big Show is more hardcore than Sabu now.
Match 1.
RVD vs Hardcore Holly
- This looked edited to make it ok. I hear it was really bad live.
- Rob stop hanging out with Ashley she is messing you up.
- Is Stevie Richards joining Knox and Test?
- Man, seeing Sandman Dreamer and RVD in a ECW ring in MSG made this fan happy.
Match 2.
CM Punk vs The Reject Shannon Moore
- Ok match if Moore keep the Prince of Punk nickname I see him ending up in a role like a few years ago were he was with Matt Hardy.
- Dupree debuts tonight. OK.
- So Kelly Kelly (so dumb they named her twice) flirts with Punk and Knox pulls her away. I think Knox and Punk will be a good feud.
- Thorn and Ariel come out. Hey Joey, you still haven't paid Ariel you cheapskate.
Match 3.
Rene Dupree vs Balls Mahoney
- Again Ok match just used to move the feud along.
- On Unforgiven I don't know if it on Sky Box Office or Sky Sports so I don't know if I see it.
Main Event.
Big Show vs Sabu Extreme Rules for the ECW title
- Solid match Big Show is looking better then ever. Sabu in his Garden debut did well. Ending was disappointing but the crowd was great as always.
Final Grade
B - 3 good matches and a great sight makes me a happy fan if the RVD vs Hardcore Holly match was better this would have been a grade A show.
See you in 7
