[Amsterdam. 26.03.24] The 2024 GAMMA Pan American Championships are set for Rosario in Argentina’s Santa Fe province from 5 to 7 July, with athlete accreditation, official weigh-ins and medical clearance taking place on 3 July. Hosted by GAMMA ARGENTINA (Asociacion Civil con Personeria Juridica de Artes Marciales y Deportes de Combate), the three-day tournament will be staged at the Club Náutico. There are 17 senior weight categories open for entry, including male and female, in the two disciplines of MMA and Striking MMA. The MMA bouts are under GAMMA Amateur MMA Rules to enable consecutive days of safe combat competition, but are open to both amateur and professional, elite martial arts competitors. Pan America’s MMA Youth Championships for 16 – 17-year-olds is also on the bill with brackets open in all weight categories. Participating nations can enter a maximum of 2 athletes per weight category into each tournament. Athletes wishing to take part should contact their National Federation. GAMMA ARGENTINA Secretary and Sport Director, Lucio Gianni, said: “It will be a pleasure to welcome the best athletes from across the continent to a city with as much sporting significance as Rosario. We firmly believe that it will be a great boost for all combat sports in Argentina.
