2024 GAMMA EUROS: (U18s) FINALS RESULTS & MEDALLISTS

 

  • UKRAINE DOMINATES IN U18S GAMMA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
  • 12 – 19 MAY 2024, VYSOKÉ TATRY - SLOVAKIA

[Amsterdam. 15 May 2024] The under-eighteens finals session and medals ceremonies have now concluded at the 2024 GAMMA European Championships in Slovakia, with senior competition commencing on Friday. Hosted by the Slovak MMA Association (SOMMA) at the Bellevue Hotel in Vysoké Tatry, the continental nations MMA tournament is organised by the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts.

The morning started with U12s/U14s matches on the tatami followed by an awards ceremony. The U16s/ U18s bouts followed this afternoon in the MMA Arena, also concluding with the awarding of medals. Ukraine excelled in the medals table with 28 gold, 23 silver and 5 bronze. Czech Republic placed second with 4 golds, 5 silver and 11 bronze, and Slovakia third with 2 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze. Medals were also earned by Ireland (3 silvers and 8 bronzes), Latvia (2 silver) and Greece (3 bronze).

The senior teams are already registering and completing medical and weight checks for the adult MMA and striking MMA tournaments commencing on Friday (17) and continuing through to Sunday (19). Held under Amateur MMA rules suited to the tournament format, the senior competitions are open to professional combat sport athletes. The tournament draw will take place tomorrow morning (Thursday 16)

HOW TO WATCH

Three days of senior matches will be live streamed for free on GAMMA Facebook and YouTube channels from 17 – 19 May, with times to-be-confirmed.
