UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev defends the gold tonight against former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 302.
Poirier isn’t the only fighter who is taking aim at the champion right now, because former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor has taken to X, in posts that are now deleted, to accuse the lightweight champion of having a staph infection (X posts transcript come via MMA Junkie):
“Staph again. This inbred however lives with Staph. This team is infested, make no mistake. Scruff balls. Whatever ya’s are into, I suppose. He still subs Dustin in the 1st.”
“Yous absolute scruffy f*cks I’m sick of yous. Wash your f*cking self! Wash your clothes! Wash your mats! And do it fucking everyday you scruffy c*nts.”
Neither Makhachev or anybody from his team have responded to the allegations made by McGregor.
