The Prelims
Admittedly, most of the fighters on the Prelims are new to me. I am very much looking forward to watching the fights, though, to hopefully get some of the fighters on my radar for their next time out.
Norbert Novenyi Jr. vs. Dalton Rosta
Norbert Novenyi Jr. has looked great while compiling his 7-0 record. He has finishes on the ground and with his hands, showcasing a pretty good all around game. He could be a future star if he continues his streak and keeps taking tougher and tougher fights.
Sinead Kavanagh vs. Arlene Blencowe
The hometown girl, Sinead Kavanagh, will be fighting in Dublin for the fourth time in a row. The crowd will be behind her against the tough Arlene Blencowe, who has had her ups and downs in MMA.
Paul Hughes vs. Bobby King
No offense to Bobby King, but all eyes will be on Paul Hughes in this fight. Hughes is a highly coveted prospect who chose PFL/Bellator over the UFC after leaving Cage Warriors. Hughes will have the home crowd on his side as he looks to make his star rise even more. It sounds like there are plans to have Hughes on the big PFL/Bellator cards in the future, so it’ll be interesting to see if Bobby King can do anything to stop that from happening.
Jason Jackson vs. Ramazan Kuramagomedov
Jason Jackson has been on fire the last four and a half years. He is riding an eight win streak and was able to capture the Welterweight Title in a big time upset last year. He has all the tools to keep the reign going, but Ramazan Kuramagomedov is a really tough matchup. The undefeated Russian has a strong all-around game, but will have to close the length distance in order to capture the title. This should be a really fun way to end the show!
My Picks
Since I don’t have a ton of knowledge about the Prelim fighters, I will keep my picks short…
Jason Jackson
Paul Hughes
Sinead Kavanagh
Norbert Novenyi Jr.
I’m looking forward to this show for the top of the card and to get some prospects on my radar. The Dublin crowd should be hot, so the atmosphere should be amazing!
