Hosted by GAMMA ARGENTINA (Asociacion Civil con Personeria Juridica de Artes Marciales y Deportes de Combate), the three-day, nations tournament in MMA and Striking MMA for seniors and under-18s took place at the Club Náutico.  Participating nations were Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay and USA.

The MMA bouts took place under GAMMA Amateur MMA Rules to enable consecutive days of safe combat competition but were open to both elite amateur and professional martial arts competitors.

GAMMA President Alexander Englehardt commented:

“It has been a groundbreaking event for us with excellent work carried out by GAMMA Argentina in its organisation. There was a good turnout for our first Pan American Championships in the region, which attracted new countries, new members and through which we forged new connections. It provided a seminal moment for MMA in Pan America, which will undoubtedly kickstart further growth, and we look forward to seeing more Pan American athletes and nations at our World Championships in Indonesia.”
