A crucial middleweight division bout may no longer be happening on the August 24 UFC Fight Night card as Brunno Ferreira is claiming that Roman Kopylov has pulled out of their scheduled fight.
Ferreira revealed the news during a video posted on Instagram (transcript via Marcelo Alonso of Sherdog):
"Once again I received not so good news. My fight with Roman Kopylov is off. When I say the Russians don’t want to fight me, that’s the truth. Actually that's the second [time]. [Sharabutdin Magomedov] did the same. Curiously both are strikers. Why do you think the Russians don’t want to fight me? Maybe because they know how tough I am in grappling and also because I have knockout power. What you guys think?"
Sherdog is also reporting that Abdul Razak Alhassan could step in on short notice to fight Ferreira on the August 24 card.
UFC Fight Night is scheduled for Saturday, August 24 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
