REPORT: GAVIN TUCKER OUT, HERBERT BURNS IN AT UFC 305

By David Tees on 7/26/2024 7:24 PM

Next months UFC 305 card has undergone a change because Pharjack (via Marcel Dorff) is reporting that Gavin Tucker has been pulled from a bout against Jack Jenkins, with Herbert Burns stepping in on short notice.

Jenkins (12-3-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Don Shainis and Jamall Emmers. Jenkins also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Emiliano Linares by third round TKO during the 2022 season. Jenkins has competed 15 times as a professional MMA fighter and just four of those bouts went the distance.

Burns (11-5-0) enters the contest riding a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Daniel Pineda, Bill Algeo and Julio Arce. Burns hasn’t picked up a victory in over four years, with his last win coming over Evan Dunham at UFC 250 in June of 2020. Burns is the brother of Gilbert Burns, who had previously challenged for the UFC Welterweight Title.

UFC 305 takes place on Saturday, August 17 from the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia with Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
