By David Tees on 7/26/2024 7:46 PM

A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC Vegas 96 according to Danny Segura (via Marcel Dorff) as #12 Neil Magny faces Michael Morales.

Magny (29-11-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last seven fights, with his latest being a third round TKO win over Mike Malott at UFC 297. Magny hasn’t put a winning streak together in over three years and his last such streak lasted for two fights. Magny has competed 40 times as a professional MMA fighter and 20 of those bouts went the distance.

Morales (16-0-0) has picked up four wins under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Trevin Giles, Adam Fugitt, Max Griffin and Jake Matthews. Morales competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Nikolay Veretennikov by unanimous decision during the 2021 season. Morales is undefeated thus far as a professional MMA fighter and that streak has lasted for seven years.

UFC Vegas 96 takes place on Saturday, August 24 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
