Kadeem respectively, to up-and-comers scratching and clawing for momentum on their way to qualify for March Mayhem, Rise 1334 was another can’t miss! If you didn’t have time to catch the show, sit back, relax, and read up on what you need to know from this week’s episode.
Results
Leela Feist (W/ Ashton Adonis) Def. Rachel Ley
This was a solid outing from both women as they looked to build some momentum and climb another rung higher on the OVW ladder. Despite showcasing her gymnastics background with some agile and unorthodox offense, Feist defeated Ley with a beautiful Butterfly Suplex.
Dustin Jackson (C) Def. Ryan Von Rockit
The OVW Media Champion squared off against Ryan Von Rockit in the second match of the night. While the latter managed to nail a quick flurry of offense on the champion, Jackson dominated most of the match, ending things in short order with the DJT.
Cash Flo Def. Tony Evans (W/ Jay Deniro)
In a match with no shortage of outside shenanigans on behalf of Deniro, Cash Flo was able to overcome the odds by hitting a ginormous Chop followed by a Side Swipe on a distracted Evans as he delivered a scathing message on the microphone- about not losing or getting chopped.
Evil Z and Star Rider Destroy Zachary PittmanErik Surge Def. Luscious Lawrence
With the National Heavyweight Champion Doug Basham looking on via the announce table, Erik Surge picked up an absolutely massive win over Luscious Lawrence with a Jackhammer, claiming his spot in his respective March Mayhem Fatal Fourway.
Jota Peso and Maximo Suave Def Anthony Toatele and Brandon Barretta
Fan-favorites in Peso and Suave defeated the team of Toatele and Barretta, but it was no easy task. This match was action-packed, with both teams trading near falls before Los Desafios captured the big win to qualify for their respective Fatal Fourway.
Sophia Rose and Karter Cauffman Def. J-Rod (C) and Miss Larken
Sure, Miss Larken may have broken up a pinfall for her own team that could have finished the match, but the real headline of the night is Sophia Rose countering J-Rod with a Stunner to score a giant victory over the OVW Women’s Champion.
Anthony Catena Def Jake Lawless
The main event of the evening was a match between Lawless and Catena to qualify for the OVW Media Championship Fatal Fourway- and boy did it live up to the hype. In what was a hard-fought back and forth battle, Catena finally finished off Lawless with a series of ring-shaking Elbow Drops for the win.
Final Thoughts:
As the road to March Mayhem narrows, the stakes, and tension in OVW have never been higher. The latest Fatal Fourway qualifiers proved they’re ready for battle, while dominant champions like J-Rod (Despite her big loss to Sophia Rose) and Dustin Jackson continue to stand tall. However, the most alarming development of the night was the fate of Kal Herro—kidnapped by Revolution after being given a chance to join their ranks.
With Revolution controlling so much of the OVW landscape, will their grip tighten even further, or will the locker room continue to rise up to fight back? One thing is certain—when March Mayhem arrives, all hell is going to break loose!
