By Mike Johnson on 3/11/2025 7:56 AM

A First-Time Ever Tag Team No Rope “I Quit” Match Added to PROGRESS Chapter 178

PROGRESS Wrestling has once again raised the stakes, announcing a first-time-ever match in the promotion’s history: a Tag Team No Rope “I Quit” Match between Nico X Mills and Lykos Gym, set to take place at Chapter 178: Fix Your Hearts. This match is not just a milestone for PROGRESS, but also serves as a brutal appetiser ahead of GCW Bloodsport’s arrival at the Electric Ballroom  in Camden on Sunday, September 28.

How We Got Here

The tensions between Nico X Mills and Lykos Gym have been boiling for months, fuelled by bitter clashes and escalating aggression. Both teams have been at war in recent PROGRESS outings, trading assaults and leaving destruction in their wake. After a series of contested results and underhanded tactics from Nico X Mills, Lykos Gym have snapped and demanded a match where there would be no escape - where the only way to win was to force their opponents to quit.

In a move rarely seen in wrestling, Kid Lykos took it a step further, announcing that the ropes would be completely removed, turning the match into an unhinged fight where there would be nowhere to hide.

A First in PROGRESS History

While PROGRESS has hosted countless unforgettable battles, a tag team No Rope “I Quit” Match has never been seen before in the company’s history. The removal of the ropes fundamentally alters the landscape of the match - no turnbuckles for refuge, no high-flying escapes, and no traditional ring boundaries. This will be pure, unfiltered violence, where every move could be a potential knockout blow.

For Lykos Gym, known for their technical prowess and innovative offence, this stipulation forces them into a grittier, more punishing environment. Meanwhile, Nico X Mills have been on a tear, embracing an all-or-nothing mentality that could see them push Lykos Gym to their absolute limits.

A Taste of What’s to Come with GCW Bloodsport

This historic match also sets the stage for what’s to come when GCW’s Bloodsport arrives in London later this year. With its reputation for MMA-infused, no-rope, knockout-or-submission-only brutality, Bloodsport has become one of the most talked-about wrestling spectacles in the world.

By incorporating this No Rope “I Quit” match at Chapter 178, PROGRESS is giving fans a taste of the intensity they can expect when GCW brings its unique brand of combat to the Electric Ballroom on September 28.

Who Will Say “I Quit”?

With no ropes, no disqualifications, and no pinfalls, this fight will be a war of attrition. The only way to win is to break your opponents mentally and physically, forcing them to utter the humiliating words, "I quit."

Will Nico X Mills solidify their dominance in PROGRESS with this landmark victory? Or will Lykos Gym prove that their cunning and experience can survive even the most dangerous stipulations?

PROGRESS Chapter 178 will host one of the most unique and savage matches in the company’s storied history. Get ready for chaos.
