ARE WE SURE VINCE RUSSO WENT TO TNA? - FIRST BATCH OF READER FEEDBACK TO RAW

By PWInsiderXtra Readers on 9/26/2006 11:19 AM
Every week I keep hoping that Raw will get better and every week they let me down. This week's edition of Raw was one of the worst show I have seen in a long time. I knew things weren't going to be good as soon as the show started and they had no lights.

First, let me look at the fact that all day Monday I was hearing don't miss the first ten minutes of Raw. Why? Nothing special happened unless you call having no power special. This is the second time in three weeks that the WWE has promised something and delivered nothing. Two weeks ago on 9/11 the promised they were going to have comments from the wrestlers about 9/11 and about the Smackdown show they put on right after it but somehow it never made it on to the show. You can't keep telling us something will happen and then not have it go down. If you do that enough no one will ever believe you have anything to produce.

There was one good match and one ok match but other than that you had nothing. The opening women's match wasn't even a match it was just Edge spearing Candice and that was it. The Kane/Johnny Nitro match was short and worthless, and just seemed like another way to promote the Umaga/Kane feud. Ric Flair vs. Mikey just seemed like it was there for filler and we will probably see Flair vs. Kenny next week. The DX gauntlet thing was just a waste of more time. If DX is now going to be facing Cade & Murdoch then Cade and Murdock need to get a lot better in the ring. It seemed as though their were a lot of miscues between the two teams. I am really beginning to hate the Cryme Tyme stuff. I am glad I have a DVR and can fast forward through it. The Jeff Hardy and Shelton match was the best one of the evening and it wasn't even that great. Both guys can work and I think given time they could work well together. The tag match was ok for what it was and in the end helped get over the Carlito/Orton feud.

The Eric Bischoff thing was very disappointing. I was a big fan of WCW and I like Bischoff a lot so just cutting him off in the middle of what he was saying really let me down. I hoped that was planned that way and Vince didn't decide to pull the plug on it because he didn't like what he was hearing. Maybe this will lead to something else but knowing Vince and the WWE if it does they will find a way to screw it up just like everything else recently. I also see this as a way of Vince getting himself back on TV again which would be a real shame. The John Cena vs. Lita match was pure crap and it doesn't really help to point out to fans that you are trying to get to like Cena that he really is not that good of a wrestler. I thought the ending would have been different with Edge hitting Cena with a chair because that wouldn't really be using your hands but it was much worse when Finlay, Regal, and Booker hit the ring and just beat Cena down for five minutes or so. It makes you wonder if everyone else in the locker room had gone home already because not a single person came out to help Cena. I don't watch Smackdown so I didn't know about Cena being on the show until Monday night.

With the Raw Family Reunion coming up and their 700th show not long after that they need to do something to step it up a little bit. With the signing of Kurt Angle and a prime time slot on Spike TNA is not going away anytime soon and unless WWE steps up it product I think they are going to lose a lot of fans to TNA. I guess for me about the only good thing about this weeks show was that I just hope it can't get any worse next week.

Good lord what an absolutely terrible show tonight. WWE is doing nothing but going downhill.

Coach's comment about Mr. McMahon not wanting a match on the card that's predictable seriously cracked me up. Since when? And was tonight any different? NO.

I mean...I've not been one to gripe a whole lot about the product. And I've said numerous times that I would not stop watching. But seriously, from now on if a show is bad, I'm turning it off before the main event because I don't want my TV contributing to the ratings of such a terrible show.

I did it. For the first time in a long time I simply just turned it off.

This has seriously been probably the worst Raw I've seen in a long time.

No need for me to contribute to it's final ratings number. And if they think that terrible episode is going to get me to tune into Smackdown....well...I just farted and it stinks equally as bad.

Are we sure Vince Russo went to TNA?!

This edition of Raw is well....bad.

Usually Raw is a great show and has had no problems but this week was garbage

We start the show with JR and King in the dark, JR stutters and can't seem to talk without hearing what to say in his headset which really shows me that the good JR days are long over

Next Candice comes out and is going to have a match with Lita. Lights still out. I don't understand how Edge becomes the referee, especially since he never said anything on the mic as to why.

Next, a lame argument promo between Edge and Cena. Wow, I don't think I've seen a promo so unorganized and terrible in the WWE for along time. Cena is just absolutely awful on the mic. Then Edge come up with the lamest match ever Lita vs. Cena (with one hand tied behind his back), Cena looks upset.

Kane vs. Johnny Nitro repeat....wow.....how creative.....same ending too....

Shelton Benjamin whining about racism......hmm. except for the fact that we have a black world champion on the B-show. Just why I think WWE has signed Russo not TNA, for creative......

And by the way, why would they put Lita in a no holds barred match with Cena (with one arm tied behind his back) which Edge could not interfere?

Is Coach supposed to be heel or face anyways????

The Gauntlet match was alright, but why would WWE put a face team in this gauntlet against them and to make it worse make the tag team that they're pushing the hardest look the worst out of all the teams on the roster?

Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin was fine for what it was.

Same with the tag match...

Eric Bischoff's book may be interesting and I would consider buying it, but the way they are advertising it ain't good. Wow Eric looks old.... I was disappointed on how they brushed him off though with Lita coming out. To me, they made Lita seem more important then what Eric had to say. With those nWo remarks will there be a feud with D-X, personally I hope not, I think it would be a complete and utter failure

The main event...what the heck was the point of calling it no holds barred and taking TV time to advertise this event for a slap then FU. Booker T and his court look strange in theRaw ring, especially since the red cape matches the ring ropes...and if I'm correct wasn't Edge supposed to kiss Booker's feet since he lost the title bet from Summerslam?

Overall this Raw is by far the worst episode of the year, kinda reminds me of the late not so good WcW

Once again logic was thrown out the window in the closing segment. Coach cuts off Bischoff because he talks negatively about Mr. McMahon, but doesn't do a thing when wrestlers from the rival show attack his shows champion. Also, nobody on the Raw roster had any pride and didn't come out to help? The segment was way too long and incredibly boring.

Were we supposed to not miss the first 10 minutes or were we supposed to miss all but 10 minutes tonight? Maybe they thought the idea they had in mind was lame and killed the lights on purpose to cover themselves.
