I understand that the RAW crew was in Mexico this past week and they had a lot of traveling/wrestling to do and I understand that the power outage was not their fault but this had to be one of the WORST EPISODES OF RAW EVER!!!! This show was a train wreck. Can someone explain to me why the USA network advertised that we should not miss the first 10 minutes of the show? UGHHHH!
Basically if the WWE is not going to put any effort into their show then why should I put an effort into reviewing it? I guess this happens when there is no PPV to build to – still this show was just an embarrassment to wrestling fans everywhere.
Gee – can’t wait for the season premier of RAW on 10/9 – hopefully that will be watchable because tonight was 2 hours of pain watching this muck.
I give it a 1 out of 10 – Hardy/Benjamin had an average match for the 1. Everything else sucked. I guess kissing King's foot is now the equivalent of kissing Vince's ass. At least JR didn’t get beat up in his hometown.

I usually have a long review whenever I'm compelled to write in, because it is usually a pretty good show, or at least one worth remembering. This time, its more to ask questions. Mostly, why should I care about any of this? Shelton had the best promo of the show, by far. He showed passion and fire, and that he is trying hard to get over his promo ability. Mad props for taking what is sure to be WrestleCrap and using it to show us your improvement. I popped for Bischoff, mostly because I'm one of those few out there who still remember the great good he did for the business and for WCW.
Its good to see that even after Vince admitted that he hired him just to say Bischoff was at his beck and call, he is still letting him get a book deal and national pub. I'm sure WWE makes a fair chunk of change off of the sales, but still, its damn good rub in front of THE core audience.
Also, I wanted to say that I officially declare Carlito to be the Jericho of this generation. I see such a similar approach to the business between the two, and it gives me goosebumps. That is, unless, Carlito becomes this generation's Rock. Or better yet, becomes a measuring stick all his own.
Those three points aside, the whole show just seemed like a placeholder to me. Sure HHH made me chuckle a few times, Coach showed why he's better as a personality than an announcer and Haas did... well, nothing but get squashed quite literally. And all this day after after one of the biggest names from your company and perhaps one of the greatest of all time (and almost certainly of his time) signs with the competition? I am overly underwhelmed. I recently told my DVR to stop recording SmackDown!, and ECW is close to being the only WWE brand I make an effort to see.

So the WWE built up tonight by telling us that we just had to see the first 10 minutes of Raw. I have to say, it was the best 10 minutes of Raw I've seen in a long time, because the power failure kept us from seeing the crap-fest in the ring.
Seriously, what were they thinking? First of all the big event (I'm assuming it to be Bischoff's return) didn't happen until over an hour and a half into the show. Secondly, the return of Eric Bischoff to promote his book is hardly an event. Finally, when TNA makes a blockbuster announcement that they've signed one of the top WWE superstars, countering that with Eric Bischoff is just... there's not a word that accurately describes the level of stupidity.
So let me get this straight - if a black man isn't where he wants to be in the company, it's because he's being held back due to his skin. If a black man is in a good position in the company, it's because he sold out to the evil white man.
Edge decides to use his rematch... next week? Leaving out the apparent new rule that a challenger always gets to dictate the when / where / stipulations of their rematch, what happened to the Edge that intelligently used his challenge? He won the belt by challenging Cena immediately after an elimination chamber match, when Cena was broken and bleeding. So why didn't he challenge Cena after the beatdown by Booker & his court?
I swear, sometimes the object of WWE booking is to punish you for being able to think.

So, the first 10 minutes we were supposed to tune into was for what, to see the lights go out? Amazing. I bet Vince was a tad miffed, but then again that will teach WWE for over hyping things. Actually, the dark arena gave the show a nostalgic feel of those old AWA shows or the old MSG shows of the 70s and 80s. Sadly for me, it was one of the highlights of the show.
The matches rated from useless to watchable with the mid card guys like Hardy, Shelton (despite this lame racist angle) Carlito and Super Crazy delivering the goods. The advertised IC title match was thrown away as the champ got buried again, just to act as a conduit for the dull Kane vs Umaga feud. Flair beats another Squad member. Whooo! If he is going through the whole group, I hope he shoots on Mitch because he is the most annoying of the lot.
DX has gone way beyond tiresome and needs end now. Coachman has just supplanted Vince as the authority figure but it is the same old crap and Coachman has the gravities of a cardboard cut-out. The DX against all odds gauntlet was just another tag team division burial with HHH once again playing the Superman role as HBK does all the work. Yawwwwnnn. Oh and did we REALLY need to see the HITC replay, or was that just another excuse to put the McEgos on TV without them being on TV?
I would have liked Eric Bischoff's promo - or what we got of it - had it not been for that bizarre ending of him being cut off so abruptly. But, it was the promo that Bischoff SHOULD have cut when he debuted in 2002. it really would have spiced things up a bit.
And so to Cena vs. Edge. I am digging Edge but Cena bores me, annoys me and makes me want to punch my TV screen. Even Lita was more entertaining than Cena tonight who continues with his lame ho jokes. And enough with the Marine clips already!! I couldn't help but notice the crowd was silent during the beatdown of Cena by King Bookers Court. Not a good sign when the fans couldn't care less if the supposed top babyface of the company is being beaten up. In fact, you can see people leaving in the background. Booker was great though. RAW was just the same old rubbish tonight. Nothing new happened, no twists or turns or anything to make the feuds more interesting. Then again the WWE appears to short on Angles lately. Another long and wasted two hours for me.
Hopefully ECW tomorrow night will be better it usually is.
Cheers

Tonight's Raw...The re-introduction of Easy E and...they play him off like on the Oscars!!! I thought I was seeing the rebirth of the WWE and then...nothing. We need the "Oh My God" moment. The Hogan turn, the Bret Hart screw job, hell even Jericho's intro. We need that moment. And they had the chance tonight. With Uncle Eric showing up tonight, we had the chance to see that moment. Where was the NWO? Tonght was the only night to bring them back. I want to be shocked. I'm sick of knowing what will be on before it happens. Last week, DX should have kicked Cena's ass. This week sucked!!!!
