PROGRESS icon Trent Seven and WWE ID's Marcus Mathers Enter PROGRESS Wrestling’s Super Strong Style 16 Tournament

PROGRESS Wrestling is excited to announce Trent Seven and Marcus Mathers as the latest entrants into the upcoming Super Strong Style 16 tournament.

Trent Seven returns for only his second shot at the tournament, aiming to redeem himself after his infamous six-second loss to Matt Riddle in his previous appearance in 2017. Marcus Mathers makes his Super Strong Style debut in 2025. As one of the brightest talents emerging from WWE's ID scheme, Mathers sees this tournament as a major opportunity to establish himself on a wider stage and gain further recognition in the wrestling world.

They join an already stacked line-up featuring Leon Slater, Zozaya, Masa Kitamiya, Man Like Dereiss, Jack Morris, and Ethan Allen. With eight competitors now confirmed, the field is shaping up to showcase the best independent talent in Europe, USA and Japan across two days with many potential matches readdy to steal the weekend.

The event takes place on Sunday 4th May and Monday 5th May at the spiritual home of PROGRESS Wrestling, the Electric Ballroom with the winner of the 16 man tournament gaining a shot at the PROGRESS Men's World Championship which by that point will either be current champion Luke Jacobs or his opponent in Las Vegas, Michael Oku.
