Las Vegas, NV – Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser is set to step into the squared circle for his PROGRESS Wrestling debut at Chapter 179: PROGRESS Las Vegas, taking place on Thursday, April 17th at the Pearl Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada during WrestleMania Week.
Hauser will compete in a Scramble Match for the Proteus World Championship, where he’ll face off against Simon Miller, EFFY, Adam Priest, and Charles Crowley. Known for his acclaimed performances in Richard Jewell, I, Tonya, and Cobra Kai, Hauser is now ready to make history in the wrestling world. He’s not just here to participate, he’s coming for his FIRST EVER gold.
In an interview for PROGRESS Wrestling's website, Hauser reflected on what PROGRESS Wrestling means to him, his respect for the reigning champion Simon Miller, and what fans can expect if he walks away with the Proteus title.
“I’m a long-time watcher,” Hauser shared. “I discovered PROGRESS at WrestleMania weekend in 2017 and became a huge fan.
Discussing his championship aspirations, Hauser said:
“It would be surreal. I know there’ll be haters because I’m a Hollywood guy, but I’ve been paying my dues and bleeding over canvases all over the States for two years. I’ve trained with Paul London and worked with companies like DEFY and MLW. If I win, I’ll take that title to premieres, put on quality matches, and shine a spotlight on PROGRESS.”
When asked about the possibility of wrestling in the Electric Ballroom - PROGRESS Wrestling’s iconic home venue, Hauser was equally passionate:
“I don’t know how I’d be received there - maybe as an outsider - but I hope they see me as someone who can do them proud.”
As for his opponents in Las Vegas?
“Do not underestimate me. Vegas is somewhere your luck can change very quickly… and I truly hope I can hit the jackpot.”
Chapter 179: PROGRESS Las Vegas promises to be a show filled with surprises, emotion, and top-tier wrestling.
