A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC 319 according to MagicM_MMABets (via Marcel Dorff) as #7 Jared Cannonier faces #15 (Welterweight) Michael “Venom” Page.
Cannonier (18-8-0) has won just one of his last three in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Gregory Rodrigues at UFC Fight Night 251. Cannnier has previously challenged for the UFC Middleweight Title, losing to then champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 276. Cannonier has headlined six straight UFC cards he has competed on and this bout will mark his first non-main event fight in more than three years.
Page (23-3-0) has won two of three in the UFC, with those wins coming against Kevin Holland and Abus Magomedov. Page had a long run under the Bellator banner, even competing in the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix in 2019. Page has picked up 23 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 13 of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC 319 takes place on Saturday, August 16 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage if the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
