REPORT: GERALD MEERSCHAERT FACES MICHAL OLEKSIEJCZUK AT UFC 319

A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC 319 according to the FightingNerdss (via Marcel Dorff) as Gerald Meerschaert faces Michal Oleksiejczuk.

Meerschaert (37-19-0) has won two of his last six under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Bryan Barberena and Edmen Shabazyan. Meerschaert does enter this bout on a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Reiner De Ridder and Brad Tavares. Meerschaert returns to a pay-per-view card for the first time in two years, with his last such appearance happening at UFC 292.

Oleksiejczuk (20-9-0-1NC) has also won just two of his last six under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Chidi Njokuani and Sedriques Dumas. Oleksiejczuk hasn’t put a winning streak together in nearly three years and his last such streak lasted for two fights. Oleksiejczuk has earned 20 wins as a professional MMA fighter and 15 of them have come by way of KO/TKO.

UFC 319 takes place on Saturday, August 16 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
