A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Shanghai according to Laerte Viana as Michel Pereira faces Marco Tulio.
Pereira (31-13-0-2NC) enters the contest on a two fight losing streak, losing to the duo of Anthony Hernandez and Abus Magomedov. Pereira hasn’t won a fight in over a year, with his last win coming against Ihor Potieria at UFC 301. Pereira, at one point, had an eight fight winning streak in the UFC and that streak lasted for nearly four years.
Tulio (14-1-0) has already picked up two wins in the UFC, having defeated the aforementioned Potieria and Tresean Gore. Tulio competed twice before on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating the duo of Yousri Belfaroui and Matthieu Letho Ducios. Tulio has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Alexandre Silva in September of 2018.
UFC Fight Night Shanghai is scheduled for Saturday, August 23 from the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China with no main event announced yet. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
