A heavyweight division affair has been added to UFC Fight Night Shanghai according to ClubDeLasAmerica as #4 Sergei Pavlovich faces #7 Waldo Cortes-Acosta.
Pavlovich (19-3-0) has won just one of his last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC Fight Night 250. Pavlovich has previously challenged for the UFC Interim Heavyweight Title, losing to Tom Aspinall at UFC 295. Pavlovich has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came during UFC competition.
Cortes-Acosta (14-1-0) enters the contest on a five fight winning streak, defeating Lukasz Brzeski, Andrei Arlovski, Robelis Despaigne, Ryan Spann and Serghei Spivac. Cortes-Acosta has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Marcos Rogerio De Lima at UFC On ESPN 45 in April of 2023. Cortes-Acosta has competed 15 times as a professional MMA fighter and eight of those bouts went the distance.
