The UFC has announced the headlining bouts for UFC Fight Night Shanghai, as #12 Johnny Walker faces #14 Zhang Mingyang in the main event, while #6 (Tied) Brian Ortega and #9 Aljamain Sterling will meet in the co-main event.
Walker (21-9-0, 1NC) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak and he hasn’t won a bout in over two years. Mingyang (19-6-0) is undefeated under the UFC banner and will also be headlining his first ever UFC card.
Ortega (16-4-0, 1NC) has won just one of his last four in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Yair Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night 237. Sterling (24-5-0) has won just one of two since moving up to featherweight, with that lone win coming over Calvin Kattar at UFC 300.
UFC Fight Night Shanghai takes place on Saturday, August 23 from the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China with Johnny Walker and Zhang Mingyang headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
