REPORT: KENNEDY NZECHUKWU OUT, STEVEN ASPLUND IN AT UFC VEGAS 114

Kennedy Nzechukwu has been pulled from UFC Vegas 114 according to MMA Fighting, replacing him against Vitor Petrino is Steven Asplund.

Petrino (13-2-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Austen Lane and Thomas Petersen. Petrino has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter, with those coming to Anthony Smith and Dustin Jacoby. Petrino also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Rodolfo Bellato by second round knockout.

Asplund (7-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, defeating Sean Sharaf by second round knockout at UFC On ESPN 73. Asplund also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Anthony Guarascio by first round TKO. Asplund has competed eight times as a professional MMA fighter and just one of those bouts went the distance.

UFC Vegas 114 takes place on Saturday, March 14 from the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Josh Emmett and Kevin Vallejos headlining. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on Paramount+.
