Renato Moicano needed a new opponent following Brian Ortega’s withdrawal from UFC 326 and now ne has one because Damon Martin has revealed that Esteban Ribovics has accepted the short notice opportunity.
Moicano (20-7-1) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping fights to Islam Makhachev and Beneil Dariush. Moicano has previously challenged for the UFC Lightweight Championship, losing to then champion Makhachev at UFC 311. Moicano hasn’t won a fight in over a year, with his last win coming over Benoit St. Denis at UFC Fight Night 243.
Ribovics (15-2-0) has won four of six under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Kamuela Kirk, Terrance McKinney, Daniel Zellhuber, and Elves Brener. Ribovics has suffered two losses in his professional MMA career and both came during UFC competition. Ribovics also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Thomas Paull by first round knockout.
