It has been nearly five years since the last time that former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor competed in a fight of any kind.
UFC CEO Dana White says talks have begun with McGregor for a return, but they are not even close yet on when McGregor will compete again.
“No [update] but we are definitely talking to Conor obviously,” White said at the UFC 326 post-fight press conference (transcript via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “Not even close [to a timetable for his return]. We have no date for Conor right now. Not even close.”
McGregor last competed at UFC 264 in July of 2021, suffering a first round TKO loss to former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier.
