OSHAE JONES QUOTES
On what she learned from her first bout vs. Carranza:
From the first fight, I learned that she was tougher than I expected. She was very durable. She didn’t come just to lie down. She really wanted the belts
On her split decision win during her first fight vs. Carranza:
I’m honestly tired of hearing about it. I feel like I clearly won.
On her plans to make a statement in her rematch vs. Carranza:
This time I’m going to make it more clear. I’m going to show why I’m on another. I’m going to show why I’m the champion.
On her prediction for Saturday night:
I’m 100% mentally and physically. It’s going to be a show.
On her promotional debut with MVP:
I’m very excited to be headlining with MVP and fighting on ESPN. I feel like ESPN is the biggest sports platform, period. For us to be on the card, as a women's main event… I’m proud to be a part of this and make history.
On fighting live on ESPN:
I feel like this is next level. I feel like this is the biggest stage and platform that I have ever fought on so far. I just can’t wait to make my statement.
On improving her mindset for this bout:
I made the change to become a better boxer overall. I had a lot of mental health going on with the last fight. I wasn’t there mentally. I think I changed. I’m 100% this time.
ELIA CARRANZA QUOTES
On losing to Jones in their first bout:
I feel like we don’t agree on a lot, but today we are agreeing on quite a few things. I’m tired of hearing about it [her loss], too.
On her rematch vs. Jones:
I am excited to be here. I’m excited to put this all behind us and put it to rest.
On her plans for Saturday’s fight:
I feel like I’m going to come in and do way more than I did last time and really do what I need to do to solidify my name in women’s boxing to take home those belts.
On fighting on a card with Tiara Brown as the co-main event:
I think this platform is amazing. Man, when I realized I was on a card with Tiara Brown, that was it. I was like, we're good, man.
On going into this camp following the passing of one of her former coaches:
God has shown me and brought in so much love, so much affection, so much talent into my team ever since then. Just showing me like listen, I couldn’t do anything about that, but here’s what I could do for you now.
On her current team:
My team is as solid as it ever been. I’m just so grateful and so blessed.
On her message to her supporters
I appreciate the love and support. I just want everybody to tune in on Saturday and watch us go to work. It’s going to be a show.
TIARA BROWN QUOTES
On MVP and Jake Paul’s support for women’s boxing:
What excites me the most is that we are under an umbrella, MVP, that actually cares about women’s boxing. You know, Jake Paul gets a lot of slack for being a YouTuber, right, but he’s come into the game and done something that all the other promoters for decades said couldn’t be done.
On public opinion that she doesn’t get the praise she deserves:
I would like to thank all of my fans who feel that way. Even people whom I have fought tell me that they feel the same exact way about it.
On feeling like she hasn’t received her flowers yet:
I feel like I still haven’t received my flowers, you know. As an amateur, I was number one on the planet Earth, and a lot of people don’t even know that I won Gold in China. I’ve won some great fights. As a professional, I’m undefeated. I went to Australia and beat the world champion in her backyard, you know, for America. I’m very patriotic.
On her hopes to continue pursuing opportunities in the future:
I know sooner or later that’s going to change because God has opened up many doors for me, and every time one crack opens, I kick it down.
HANNAH RAPP QUOTES
On her feelings towards Brown:
I think we both have a mutual respect for each other. I think that we are very similar in our personalities and our fighting styles.
On her intentions for Saturday night:
We’re here to put on a show, and we’re here to glorify women’s boxing, and our lord and savior.
On fighting Brown live on ESPN:
I’m really excited to be here, and I know that I belong on this platform. We all belong on this platform. For ESPN and for MVP to be putting women’s boxing on the platform that it deserves is just a glorious thing.
JASMINE ARTIGA QUOTES
On facing Delgado:
She’s a durable, tough opponent. She’s my mandatory for a reason. She holds an interim world title, but on Saturday, you’re going to see the difference between an interim world champion and a world champion.
On what a win on Saturday night would mean to her:
This win means everything to me, as every win does.
On her grandmother, who was part of her camp, passing away:
Just not having her [Jamine’s grandmother] for this camp, you know, it was hard, but I needed her in a different place. I feel like this is a rebirth of a new fighter that you’re going to see in that ring, and she finally gets to be in that ring with me. I know that’s going to be an amazing moment for me.
On her camp:
You know, nothing ever really changes in my camp. I’ve been disciplined my whole career. It’s just another mission that needs to be completed on Saturday.
On the significance of her belt:
My belt is bigger than just a belt for me. I want to touch back with the kids. Every time the kids see my belt and get to touch my belt, I know I have a bigger purpose with it. So, trying to take it from me is going to be a very difficult task.
On Tiara Brown:
My first time ever walking into a boxing gym, Tiara was sparring. She was on the Olympic team, and she was winning Gold. I told my Dad I want to be just like her. And look at us right here, which is the craziest part. We won our world titles on the same day, and we represent Florida. So, I love this girl. She deserves all the flowers and everything that life has for her and that God has planned for her.
