THE WRINGER REVIEW – COVERING DECEMBER 4 THROUGH DECEMBER 10, 2006

RAW WRINGERS – DECEMBER 4, 2006

Did Melina call Federline a “megastar”?!  And did she have to keep from laughing inside while she said it?

How ironic is it that John Cena can shoot on the show’s “creativity” in heeling Coach, but everyone backstage is either afraid to do it, or when they do, they get “punished”?

How anti-climactic is Cena vs. Masters in the Masterlock Challenge, when you know they wouldn’t be stupid enough to put the belt on Masters?

A stagehand has to contact another stagehand on a walkie-talkie to “let him (Kenny) in”, when that stagehand is on his way out the door, and can just tell him to his face?!

Did JR pull out a “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reference?

Why didn’t Victoria get her clipboard after beating up Mickie?

Aren’t these Cryme Tyme segments getting more stupid by the week?

And if they really wanted to send someone to entertain the elderly folks in that home, why not send Lillian Garcia, who has, well…talent?!

Why don’t Cryme Tyme defend themselves to Shelton Benjamin by saying, “Hey, man, we don’t write this crap!”

Did Shelton actually say “well educlated”?  Way to show your intelligence and education, huh Shelton?

Will they really reunite Haas and Benjamin, and do something good for the tag division for a change?

Why did the referee continue the Masterlock Challenge when Cena reversed it?  I mean, Cena obviously broke it, if he reversed it, right?

Isn’t it funny to hear the 24/7 This Day in History narrator, who does those segments in such a serious tone, say something like “whoop ass”?

Did you catch Torrie laughing as Big Vis dragged her into the ring?

If MNM returned for “one night only” at the ECW pay-per-view, why do they have matching fur coats again?

ECW WRINGERS – DECEMBER 5, 2006

So Test “betrays” Hardcore Holly at the pay-per-view, then has to tag with him on ECW on SciFi…with no repercussions?

Heyman’s enforcers stick around after he’s gone?  Or are the Basham’s out of a job again?

So Knox is only now figuring out that “someone like him could never be with someone like her (Kelly)”?  And where the hell was CM Punk during all this?!...or even Sandman (since he deemed her worthy of saving at the pay-per-view)?

Since when does Big Show have “unlimited power”?  What is he, the Incredible Hulk?

FINAL NOTES:  Since this was Big Show’s final television appearance for ECW/WWE for at least a while, I want to give him huge, huge props.  They put the ECW Title Belt on his shoulders, and most weeks, he had good or great matches.  Physically, he put his body through hell for that company, and he dealt with all the criticism from fans (especially at live events) very well.  Show has done himself proud, and I’ll miss him!

TNA WRINGERS – DECEMBER 7, 2006

What exactly do BG and Kip want us to “stop”?  Or are they talking about DX?

Why is the calendar in Nash’s office still turned to “November”?

Why exactly does Traci Brooks now seem to have “firing power” in the company, and the ability to make a match with that stip?

Are TNA worried about copyright infringement, in not wanting to fully say, “The Marine”?  If so, why?  Isn’t The Marine a “regular” motion picture, not subject to that kind of infringement?  Or is it just a matter of not wanting to give WWE “more business”?  If so, hasn’t that boat sailed already?

SMACKDOWN WRINGERS – DECEMBER 8, 2006

Based on past incidents in Last Ride matches, wasn’t Kennedy wise to check inside the hearse?

Was there some legitimate stiffing going on in the Batista/Finlay match?

Wow, did Batista let that announce table cover fly, or what?

Okay, who else popped for JBL’s “Red Rooster starter kit” comment, regarding the Miz?

Kane and Kennedy as the main event?

MISCELLANEOUS THOUGHTS

I did not see the December to Dismember pay-per-view, but based on the results and feedback, it was a truly horrid show.  Then, to add insult to injury, Vince “blames” Paul Heyman for it, and for ECW’s “lackluster performance” recently, and relieves him of his duties.  Yet another sign that Vince is losing touch (if it’s not totally lost already) with reality, and determined to run his company into the ground.

My last column for 2006 will be the annual “year-end” column, which will appear Christmas week (probably that Tuesday).  I hope everyone has a very happy and safe holiday, whatever you celebrate!
