May 23rd: We have several huge announcements in this ROHwrestling.com Newswire including a triple main event for 6/22 in Dayton. Before we get to Dayton, lets start with June 9th in Philadelphia. The main event has been signed and it will be ROH World Champion Takeshi Morishima vs. FIP World Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong. There will be only one belt on the line in this match. If Morishima retains the World Title against Jay Briscoe on 6/8 in Boston, he will put it on the line here. If Morishima loses the ROH World Title to Briscoe and Strong is still FIP Champion, Strong will put the FIP Heavyweight Title at stake. May 23rd: Now for the news the fans in Dayton and Ohio have been waiting for as three main events have been signed for June 22nd. The first main event will pit two of the hardest kickers going today as KENTA will take on Rocky Romero!!! It will be very interesting to see how Davey Richards figures into this one as Romero is his teammate in the No Remorse Corps while KENTA selected him as his protege last year. This promises to be athletic wrestling at its best.
May 23rd: Claudio Castagnoli was granted a ROH World Tag Team Title rematch from the PPV stealing bout where he teamed with Matt Sydal to take on Jay & Mark Briscoe. Castagnoli was told he could pick any partner of his choice and he selected Chris Hero. Castagnoli & Hero vs. Briscoes 2/3 Fall World Tag Team Title Match will take place on 6/9 in Philadelphia. The winners of that match will defend the belts on 6/22 in Dayton against Matt Sydal, who will get to pick a partner of his choice. We'll have much more information on this big ROH World Tag Team Title Match after the Philly event.
May 23rd: The third main event will be a ROH vs. NOAH all star bout. ROH World Champion Takeshi Morishima & Naomichi Marufuji will take on the unlikely team of Bryan Danielson & Nigel McGuinness. ROH officials wanted ROH's best for this match and selected Danielson & Nigel. Danielson & McGuinness have agreed to team because they want to get in the ring with Morishima. This will be the first time that Danielson and Morishima step into the ring as opponents.
